Meet Lisa

I’m Lisa! I am your foot care nurse. I graduated back in 2018 and had my preceptorship at the U of A hospital on a general surgery unit. I landed my first job in home care which I had before I opened up my own business Medical Foot Care by Lisa in 2021. 

I always told myself that I would never go into home care but it actually was the best thing I could have done. Not only did I learn to be an independent nurse, be an advocate for my then patients and even take on an educator role, I also learned the beautiful side of making connections with the people (and patients) that I have met. I have also learned the not so pretty side to home care and that is time limit and not being able to do more.

Throughout my time with home care I have seen a lot of feet that needed desperate foot care (especially diabetics!). Either the patient was unable to do it themselves, the caretaker didn’t know how to, or they didn’t drive, etc.- the list goes on. I felt the need to do more. So, I went back to school and received my certificate in Foot Health Management in 2021. 

Although I’m not a mobile spa and do not offer cosmetic pedicures, I still try to provide a moment for my clients to relax and enjoy the appointment as much as possible.
